Alstom Talk: Digital depot - Bringing availability and reliability to the next level

What does it take to keep a large train fleet running safely, efficiently and on-time, day after day? Behind the scenes, our maintenance teams are working diligently at our depots with the support of digital technologies to ensure the highest safety and fleet availability. Our goal is to ensure safe and timely journeys for passengers and efficient maintenance for our customers.

At InnoTrans 2024, Lena Nicolas-Kryzhko, Commercial and Business Development Director at Alstom, delivered an insightful Alstom Talk at our stand about Alstom’s digital depot technologies, and how we have seamlessly integrated digital solutions into every step of our maintenance processes, from data acquisition to maintenance execution. The talk specifically focused on how these solutions have been deployed at our digital depot in Nola, Italy, where we maintain a fleet of 51 Alstom high-speed trains for our customer, Italo.

Alstom’s digital depot in Nola is equipped with the latest technologies to bring maintenance to the next level. Condition-based and predictive maintenance technologies allow us to monitor the condition of the Italo fleet and gather data, which is then analysed with AI algorithms. This analysis generates detailed reports on maintenance needs. The digital depot in Nola is also using advanced tools for planning maintenance activities, and our maintenance staff have various technologies at hand to make the maintenance more efficient, from tablets to 3D printing, to enhance efficiency.
