Alstom Services: The Leading Locomotive Maintainer

Leading locomotive maintainer

Alstom is the market leader for locomotive maintenance, with over 30 years of experience servicing locomotives all around the world, from Europe, to the Americas, Africa and Asia. We currently maintain around 2,450 locomotives and powerheads, including 420 non-Alstom manufactured locomotives. Alstom is the only maintainer servicing all types of locomotives, including freight, passenger and shunting. We also maintain locomotives with different types of traction such as electric, diesel, and increasingly battery traction.
As an original equipment manufacturer who has sold over 5,700 locomotives around the world over the last 20 years, we integrate our expertise into our locomotive maintenance services. Alstom offers a full range of solutions from technical support and spares supply agreements, to full maintenance where Alstom can also take on the role of entity in charge of maintenance. We incorporate the latest innovations and technologies into our solutions to provide our customers with greener and smarter mobility.
Our green modernisation solutions for existing locomotives, to include solutions to reduce or completely eliminate emissions with hydrogen, battery or hybrid re-tractioning. Alstom can undertake feasibility studies to understand your unique needs and build prototypes. We harness maintenance data solutions, including HealthHub™, Alstom’s solution for predictive maintenance and fleet management, which allows us to remotely monitor fleets from a control room in order to intervene and plan maintenance on individual locomotives based on their condition.
Alstom serves customers from our large network of over 80 depots around the world dedicated to locomotive services. We also provide services through our mobile support teams, operating from small trucks that can travel to the locomotives when there’s an issue. Thanks to remote monitoring, we can assess if the mobile response teams can manage the maintenance activities, to avoid a customer having to send the locomotive to a depot.
