Jörg Nikutta
Managing Director, Alstom Norway

Jörg Nikutta has been part of Alstom since 2017 and prior to assuming the MD role in Denmark, he was MD for Alstom in Austria. With his extensive experience and knowledge of Alstom, Jörg is well positioned to continue driving Alstom's activities in Denmark and as well as in Norway. Before joining Alstom, he was for almost 15 years in several management positions at Deutsche Bahn in Germany.

“Alstom has grown extensively in Norway over the past years and our local commitment is strong. Norway is known to have a sharp focus on sustainability; and I look forward to continuing supporting with sustainable transportation solutions and contribute with Alstom teams in making the railway network more efficient and reliable in Norway”, says Jörg Nikutta.

Jörg Nikutta replaces Carl Åge Björgan, who has been managing Alstom in Norway since 2014, and thus has been leading the company’s substantial growth in Norway. Alstom is grateful for Carl Åge’s long tenure and significant contributions to the company, as he is now taking his next career step outside of Alstom.

Alstom in Norway

Alstom is the biggest supplier of trains in Norway with approximately one third of Norway’s total fleet of passenger trains. The equipment with Alstom’s ERTMS system on onboard of approximately 380 trains by 2026 will contribute to making the Norwegian railway network more efficient and reliable, reducing delays for passengers and freight services, while guaranteeing the highest levels of safety. In 2022, Alstom won a landmark €1.8 billion framework agreement with Norske tog for the delivery of 200 regional trains. Alstom also has a substantial Service and Signalling business in Norway serving a significant installed base of trains and signalling systems.
