Alstom employees in Alberta have helped to deliver and are helping operate and maintain Edmonton’s Valley Line Southeast LRT
14 August 2024 – Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, announced today that the Alstom Foundation donated to the Canadian Red Cross fund dedicated to the mitigation, recovery and prevention efforts related to the Alberta wildfires.
“We have a strong presence in Alberta through our participation in the delivery, operation and maintenance of Edmonton’s new Valley Line Southeast LRT. The Alstom Foundation is deeply committed to supporting the communities our employees and customers live in. Like all Canadians, we are concerned about Alberta’s wildfire situation, with some fires still being classified as out-of-control. Our hearts are with the families and people impacted. We thank the firefighters and first responders, support staff and volunteers for their hard work and dedication in the face of these devastating events,” says Olivier Marcil, Vice President Public Affairs and Communications, Alstom Canada.
Donations to the Canadian Red Cross will be used for assisting those impacted in Jasper and other affected areas in Alberta with immediate and ongoing relief, including financial assistance, support to evacuees and the communities hosting them, recovery efforts, as well as supporting community preparedness for future potential all-hazard disaster events within Alberta.
Thanks to both the Federal and Alberta Government matching programs, Canadian donations are tripled. To make a donation to the CRC relief efforts in Alberta click here.
