29 July 2024 -  Alstom India, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, through its 10th edition of Young Engineering Graduate Program (YEGP), has onboarded close to 180 young graduate engineers as part of Batch 1 and another 170+ are expected to be onboarded in Batch 2. This year's program welcomes a diverse group of talented individuals from 22 states across India, reflecting Alstom's commitment to nurturing talent nationwide. Started in 2015, a strategic hiring and onboarding initiative for Alstom India, the program along with other initiatives has aided in a continued DEI momentum within the organization.

Reinforcing Alstom's dedication to diversity and inclusion, 66% of the new recruits are women. The recruitment drive extended its reach to 48 universities, across 22 states in India, covering the length and breadth of the country, demonstrating Alstom's dedication towards regional diversity. As compared to its debut year, the diversity profiles have grown from 23% to over 66% over the program’s decennium.

Over the next two months, the new recruits will participate in an immersive 6-days program designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Alstom's product lines, functions, policies & processes. They will have the opportunity to interact with senior leadership, gain hands-on experience in various departments, and develop a strong foundation for their careers at Alstom. Following the program, these graduate and post-graduate engineers, embark on their careers as trainees, receiving comprehensive technical, functional training and on-the-job areas like application engineering Train Control Engineers, Train Design Engineers, and Testing & Commissioning Engineers.

The YEGP program, launched in 2015, plays a vital role in Alstom's people strategy by attracting and developing young talent to support its expanding operations in India and globally. The program has a proven track record of success, with over 1700+ graduates now contributing to Alstom's mission of shaping the future of mobility. These individuals have joined the ranks of Alstom's six manufacturing facilities and five engineering centers across India, working on local and global projects.
