June 3, 2024 – As Pride Month gets underway around the globe, Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, announced that it is joining Pride at Work Canada (PaWC) to advance its efforts to be a model employer for LGBTQ+ employees and demonstrate its commitment to Canada’s LGBTQ+ community at large.

“Alstom strives to create a workplace where all employees feel respected, safe, and comfortable in expressing themselves authentically."

President Americas, and Executive Sponsor of Alstom True Colours

Pride at Work Canada offers robust tools and resources to build LGBTQ+ inclusive workplaces. Alstom employees around the world will now have access to PaWC events, resources, and leadership programs, while Alstom in Canada will benefit from its Workplace Audit program. In addition, Alstom will be able to enhance efforts to recruit a diverse workforce through PaWC’s job board portal.

“Alstom strives to create a workplace where all employees feel respected, safe, and comfortable in expressing themselves authentically. We are confident that joining Pride at Work Canada will help accelerate our progress towards our inclusion and allyship goals,” said Michael Keroullé, President Americas, and Executive Sponsor of Alstom True Colours.

This announcement builds on Alstom’s existing programs to support an inclusive workplace for LGBTQ+ employees. Alstom Americas has an employee resource group for LGBTQ+ employees and allies, called Alstom True Colors with over 150 members across the region. Every June, Alstom True Colours fosters a virtual pride parade called the Rainbow Train, where employees from around the world log their steps into an app, and move a virtual train around the world. In 2023, 1,139 employees from 25 countries logged their steps, moving the virtual train around the world three times, raising awareness, creating community, and in support of Alstom’s queer community. The Rainbow Train initiative won the 2023 Canadian Urban Transit Association’s (CUTA) first ever Innovation Award in the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) category.
