28 February 2024 – The Alstom Foundation announced that a donation was made to support the thousands of residents of the Valparaíso Region (Chile) that were affected by the major forest fires that occurred in the area during the first days of February.
Desafío Levantemos Chile, a non-governmental organization (NGO) working to help communities in emergency situations will be the recipient of these funds. This NGO has been working tirelessly to deliver essential items and debris removal kits to the victims.
"These fires had a tragic impact on many Chilean families. Alstom has a track record of supporting the communities in the countries in which we are present and we are proud to provide funds that go to the direct help of the thousands of affected people who have seen their homes destroyed," says Dolores Iglesias, Human Resources Director and Corporate Social Responsibility Leader at Alstom Chile.
