Alstom has gathered 90 of its strategic suppliers from 20 different countries, representing 50% of its purchases, at a Supplier Day in Chennai, India. The objective of the meeting was to exchange ideas on enhancing collaboration and innovation, reaching operational excellence, cost optimization and greater fluidity in ways of working as Alstom expands its geographical footprint. Among the suppliers attending the event were Knorr-Bremse, Faiveley, Wabtec, Huawei, KTK and Lafarge Holcim.

To achieve these goals, Alstom and some of its strategic suppliers signed a charter in three areas: business development, industrial excellence, and product & innovation. By signing the charter, Alstom and its suppliers commit to respecting its principles over three years with a yearly review of the mutual benefits.

Olivier Baril VP Sourcing at Alstom, said: “With this Supplier Day, we are creating a platform with our strategic suppliers in order to share our views on processes, industrial development and innovation to ensure the availability, sustainability and quality of our solutions to better serve our customers and passengers”.
