Between August 3 and 5, Alstom will participate in the Connected Smart Cities, in São Paulo, an event to discuss improvements to promote smarter and interconnected cities which, in the modernization process, seek a balance to meet the population increase of urban areas. The discussion will take place at the Pro Magno Event Center, and will be attended by companies, entities and government representatives.

During the three days of the event, projects that translate the several models of connectivity will be presented and analyzed. The exchange of information proposed by the administrations of the cities and by companies will focus on meeting the new Brazilian demands, collaborating for all those involved in the construction of smarter cities to be able to share ideas and experiences and, together, break the paradigms that exist in Brazil. Successful projects in cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Florianópolis, Curitiba, Recife and Águas de São Pedro, which already think and act in a more integrated way, will be commented during the event.

Cristiano Saito, Alstoms Business Development Director, will lead the discussion on mobility on August 5. By participating in the Connected Smart Cities event, we see an opportunity to promote the concept of smart mobility, which is still not very spread in Brazil. Our goal here is to show innovative solutions, which can collaborate to the integration and optimization of new projects in Brazil and which are already being developed by Alstom in other countries says the executive, who will speak about the Tramway as a mode of transportation that proposes the integration to the transport system.

Alstoms Citadis tramway system stands out as one of the urban mobility solutions that is becoming increasingly important in Brazil. Considered modern and sustainable, it has the capacity to transport a passenger volume equivalent to 50 cars or three buses and uses 75% less power per passenger compared to an electric bus. Moreover, it adapts perfectly to the conditions of cities, integrates to other modes of transportation easily and issues one-fourth the traffic noise of vehicles.
