Alstom performed the stator assembly in Manduriacu project works, the hydropower to be implemented in Ecuador. The equipment, manufactured in Taubaté (Brazil) plant, includes the static part of the generator and it is formed by housing, core and winding. Its power, which is equivalent to 30MW, represents 50% of the energy generated by the plant and is sufficient to serve more than 100,000 families. With more than three meters high and 7.5 meters in diameter, the part weighs approximately 72 tons. This work was done in record time in the field, in less than two weeks after assembly of Kaplan set.

In the same period, Alstom made the Final Acceptance Test (TAF) of the Digital Supervision and Control System (DSCS) for the project, in its testing platform, located in São Paulo plant. Such milestone is of extremely importance for the project as it ensures the plant operation. The results exceeded expectations and had 100% customer approval. The next step is to perform uploading of the software into the equipment pieces for the commissioning of the system on the field.

Alstom is part of a consortium to supply equipment for Manduriacu project, where its share adds approximately 25 million to supply two Kaplan turbines of 30 MW each, with a total generation of 60 MW. The consortium, which also has in its scope the delivery of hydromechanical equipment, substation and plant balancing, starts commercial operation later this year.
