Last week, between 3-5 June, Alstom hosted its 24th annual North American Users Group Conference in Bellevue, WA, home to its Network Management Solutions (NMS) Global Center of Excellence in Redmond, Washington.
The event brought together over 200 customers from 75 North American energy companies, as well as five solution partners and three research partners from around the world. Participants engaged in Special Interest Groups, symposiums, demonstrations and events focused on Alstoms NMS technology. Martin Huang, Executive Lead Inter-Utility Operations for BC Hydro, gave the keynote speak on evolving power system operations where he addressed the future of energy distribution from a utilitys perspective.
We believe in innovation through tight collaboration with our customers, and we believe in long term partnerships. The Users Group represents both for us, said Karim El-Naggar, Vice President of Alstoms Network Management Solutions (NMS) business.
From the customers perspective the Alstom North American Users Group offers an exceptional opportunity to share with each other as a community of users, which has proven to be extremely valuable for all of us, said Steve Karolek of We Energies who served as the Users Group Chairman for the last two years.
This year Alstom also made two announcements at the event; the Company will provide a Demand Response Management System (DRMS) for New Yorks Con Edison and it successfully delivered its energy market management system for Southwest Power Pools (SPP) Integrated Marketplace.
