Alstom signs strategic cooperation agreement with Energy China

Alstom has recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement (SCA) with China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China) to tap the growing international market in thermal and renewable energy segments.

The objective of this strategic cooperation is to form a complementary partnership combining Alstoms technology advantage on power generation and Energy Chinas capability and capacity on execution and delivering engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects. According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate on the supply of power equipment to China and overseas market.

"This agreement is strategically important for both Alstom and Energy China as a win-win cooperation. Im very confident that with the experience and expertise of both companies, we will better meet the needs and challenges of the global power market, achieving stronger market position," said Philippe Cochet, President of Alstom Thermal Power.

Energy China is a business giant focused on power and energy planning consultation, investigation design, project contracting, equipment manufacturing, and investment operation etc. It has a long-term cooperation history with Alstom, proven by a number of successfully power projects, including Concepcion 1x135MW and Phividec 3x135MW coal-fired plant in Philippines and Vung Ang II 2x600MW coal-fired plant in Vietnam. Several other coal-fired and hydro projects in Asia, Africa and East Europe are being pursued together with Energy China.
