According to the report "The patent system 2015", published by the OBS (Online Business School), Alstom Renewables in Spain is one of the top 5 applicants for international patents (PCT[1]) in the country with a total of 22 patent filings.
Alstom heads, thanks to its innovation and research centres, the energy and transport sector in Spain. The Group, with close to 3.500 employees in Spain, houses the Group R&D reference centre for wind power and a further 8 technology centres for the rest of its products and services.
[1] The Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) is an international patent law treaty, concluded in 1970. It provides a unified procedure for filing patent applications to protect inventions in each of its contracting states. A patent application filed under the PCT is called an international application, or PCT application.
