Alstom will modernise the hydro generators at the Fionnay power plant

Alstom has been awarded a contract worth around 7 million euros (CHF 8.9 million) by Forces Motrices de Mauvoisin SA to modernize the three 60 MW hydro generators of the Fionnay power plant. The order includes the supply of three new stators including poles, brushless exciters, voltage stabilizers as well as the relevant revision services. The order is scheduled to be completed in three phases with deliveries in the autumns of the years 2015-2017. The Fionnay power plant located in the Val de Bagnes, Valais-Alps is in operation since 1958 and uses the waters of the Mauvoisin storage lake together with the Riddes partner power plant.

Alstom won this contract thanks to the economically and technically convincing solution presented, as well as the companys comprehensive experience with modernization projects. With an installed base accounting for more than a quarter of the worlds hydro facilities, Alstom has developed an extensive experience assessing and servicing, retrofitting and modernizing power plants in operation.
This particular know-how includes plant support (typically inspection, maintenance, repair, spare parts and diagnostics), small retrofit and large retrofit activities; and all types of equipment (including turbines, generators, and control system). Alstom Hydro Service offers to power plant operators, both, proven and flexible, standardized or customized services to maintain plant availability, at optimum efficiency, and even increase performance.
