The AGV Italo celebrates its first birthday: on 28 April 2012 the first train of NTV (Nuovo trasporto viaggiatori) started its journey for the first time and yesterday celebrated a year of commercial service.
In twelve months more than 4 million passengers have travelled on the High Speed train able to run up to 360 km/h, 2 million of which in the first four months of 2013. Moreover, following the delivery by Alstom of the last train of the 25-vehicles fleet for NTV, at the end of March 2013 the offering of 50 connections among Rome, Florence, Bologna, Milan, Padua, Venice, Turin, Naples and Salerno has been completed.
Alstom was responsible for the design and production of the fleet in the Italian sites in Savigliano, Bologna and Sesto San Giovanni, and the French sites in La Rochelle, Le Creusot and Tarbes. In addition, the Group is carrying out the service activities in the Italian maintenance center in Nola.
On April 28, 2012 the AGV .italo welcomed its first passangers.
