Alstom Grid has been awarded a three-year electrical substation services contract, worth more than 3 million, with TransnetBW in Germany, covering planned and unplanned maintenance and emergency repair on all of their high voltage assets. The scope of the contract includes power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, gas-insulated switchgear, instrument transformers, AC/DC auxiliary supply and thermographic measurement.

TransnetBW has a large base of electrical substations across south Germanys Baden-Württemberg region, all designed and installed by different manufacturers. With this new contract, Alstom Grid will step in as servicing expert, seamlessly taking on all maintenance responsibilities. Alstom will assure technical expertise on its own products as well as the 80% of non-Alstom equipment installed in the substations.

Alstom Grid is well-placed to provide expert services across the range of substations, with 100 years of experience and technical knowledge on both modern and legacy equipment, from different ages and various manufacturers. TransnetBW awarded the contract to Alstom because of its flexible, full-service approach and ability to adapt its offer to a variety of equipment, while offering the highest standards of maintenance and repair.

Under the contract, Alstom provides all maintenance services to existing equipment and could also supply TransnetBWs with renovation and modernisation projects as needed. This project further establishes Alstom as a leader in global, tailor-made service solutions.
