Alstom Grid acquires ASAT Solutions Inc.

Alstom Grid recently announced that it has finalised the acquisition of ASAT Solutions Inc. (ASAT), a company based in Calgary, Alberta in Canada which provides substation automation solutions.

With this acquisition, Alstom Grid has made an important step towards strengthening its substation automation business. ASAT products have been developed to improve the management and safety of the substation as well as the availability of substation information in real time. Furthermore they enhance the management of assets and are widely used by utility companies worldwide. 

These products will complement Alstom´s smart grid product portfolio in the area of MiCOM protection relays and widen the product offering of the DS Agile digital control system. 

At the same time, the knowledge and expertise coming from ASAT engineering team will be of great value to Alstom Grid and will facilitate the deepening of know-how in this field.
