Alstoms commitment to safety has seen our Generator Service Factory site in Stafford reach five years without a single Lost Time Accident.
Lost Time Accidents or LTAs are key industry safety indicators and ones that Alstom takes extremely seriously, as shown by the five-year achievement.
The team put this fantastic achievement down to the continued engagement and commitment from all members of the 170 strong workforce. Training and communication through regular Toolbox Talks has allowed potential issues to be resolved in open forums.
Roger Kay, Alstom Power Factory Director, said: Our safety performance is, and will always remain, our most important key performance indicator.
This is an excellent result and further highlights just how successful weve been since we launched the safety improvement programme back in February 2007.
Id like to thank and congratulate every team member for the effort and commitment shown in supporting the safety improvement programme. Safety has to remain our number one priority.
The Alstom Zero Deviation Plan has focused the teams efforts on making high risk activities safer, such as improvements to the Lock out Tag Out and Electrical Safety procedures.
Alstom employs around 2,000 people in Stafford and is the towns largest employer. There are currently about 150 vacancies at our three sites in the area. For more information about working for Alstom click here.
