Oxley Traincare Centre welcomes local dignitaries to official opening event

Battling through the snow and ice, local dignitaries joined Alstom to mark the official opening of the new Modernisation and Engineering Project Office in Oxley, Wolverhampton.

On Tuesday 22 January, Wolverhamptons Mayor, Councillor Christine Mills, joined Ana Giros, Alstoms Senior Vice President Train Life Services, to celebrate an exciting time for Alstom and more specifically Oxley Traincare Centre.
 
The Alstom team has been planning to create a purpose-built facility to house Alstoms Modernisation and Engineering Project Office for around three-years which is now the base for Support Staff, Engineering, Quality Service Reliability and Warranty and Supply Chain.

At the event, Ana Giros said: We are looking at this new facility not only as a growth business in the UK but how it can contribute to what the rest of the UK is doing. From Oxley we will start our modernisation activities in Asia, the focus is on that as much as on the UK market. Oxley is key to Alstoms global Train Life Services business.
 
I'm really glad we're opening the new offices after three years of discussions and planning. We will share the future all together.

Councillor Christine Mills, Mayor of Wolverhampton said in a closing speech: The City is very proud that Alstom has chosen the Oxley site, out of its six West Coast Main Line Traincare Centres, to build its UK engineering and modernisation skills base. It is particularly pleasing to be here today to celebrate this very important occasion.
