In the context of an "energy world tour", intended to heighten the awareness of younger generations in Russia of the ecological and technological challenges of today via social networks, Egor Goloshov and Maria Khromova visited generator and Arabelle steam turbine workshops. These two students from Moscow discovered the complexity of the manufacturing process of this very high value-added equipment, the degree of qualification that they require and the principles of lean production applied in the workshops.

Work on magnetic coils by controlled thermonuclear fusion, led by Alstom teams, for electricity generation projects particularly interested the prize-winners. The Russian physicist and the Nobel Peace Prize holder, Andreï Sakharov is one of the inventors of the tokamak, the magnetic containment chamber used for the fusion. Maria and Egor were impressed by the enthusiasm with which our experts encouraged them to share their passion. They will visit 17 countries in two months and will report their discoveries on their blog.
