Alstom Grid Spain has recently received an order from the electricity utility ESB (Electricity Supply Board) in Ireland for the design and manufacture of a 220 kV Mobile Substation GIS (Gas Insulated Substation), which will be set up in September 2012 at the Great Island substation placed in Wexford Ireland.

The substation has two mobile platforms, a semi-trailer formed by a GIS 220 kV (type B105), with air bushings, protection and control systems, rectifiers, batteries, AC/DC distribution cubicles, telecommunications cubicles and SF6 treating gas equipment. A second platform will include high voltage test equipment.

This order has been obtained thanks to close collaboration and great work between Alstom Grid's commercial and technical teams. This order reinforces Alstom's worldwide presence in the international mobile substations market and encourages us to continue the promotion of these solutions with customers all over the world.
