Alstom Grid has been awarded a contract worth 14 million from the Swedish transmission systems operator, Svenska Kraftnät, to deliver a new 420 kV substation in Danderyd in the outskirts of Stockholm. The substation named Anneberg is part of the reshaping project of the electrical grid in the Stockholm region: Stockholms Ström.

Under the terms of the contract, Alstom will deliver a 420 kV switchyard with one double breaker bay and two single breaker bays, protection and control equipment, civil works as well as power line works for the green field project.

The architect behind the design received Svenska Kraftnäts Environment Award in 2010 for the architectural and technically elegant solution which shows that it is possible to shape a large substation in a densely populated area.

We are proud to be entrusted with delivering the Anneberg substation to Svenska Kraftnät given its importance for the energy supply of Stockholm and the delicate environmental aspects of its location. says Fredrik Owman, Managing Director of Alstom Grid in Sweden.

The project will be led by Alstom Grids Swedish Solutions Unit located in Västerås and is due for completion by mid 2015.
