Alstom and the Fonds Stratégique dInvestissement (Strategic Investment Fund), actively supported by the French ministry for Industrial Recovery, have positively concluded the negotiations conducted with Lohr Industrie for the acquisition of its tyre-based tramway manufacture activity Translohr. Alstom (51%) and FSI (49%) will acquire 100% of this business for 35 million.

Alstom Chairman and CEO, Patrick Kron, welcomes this agreement which preserves the future of this activity in Alsace (France), the related jobs, the execution of on-going projects - in particular for RATP, which has also contributed to make this agreement possible, and STIF1- and the development of Translohrs technology and business prospects thanks to Alstoms global support. This agreement will be finalised after completion of legal procedures, information processes and approval of the competent authorities.
