First run on the new section of Pariss T3 tramline

The first of 25 Citadis tramsets that will begin operating on the new section of the T3 tramline (Porte d’Ivry – Porte de la Chapelle) by the end of the year made a debut appearance on tuesday, february 7th at Porte de Pantin (in Paris’s 19th arrondissement) where it was officially presented to the press by local elected officials and RATP management.
The guests took a tour of the tram whose interior fittings have been redesigned to make it more accessible. Deliveries of the new tramsets will continue at regular intervals through 2014. The new section is slated to open for commercial service in 2012. An estimated 165,000 passengers are expected to eventually use the new line daily.
