Alstom continuously enlarges its co-operation with Mosenergo. First inspection of the first ever GT26 in Russia is successfully completed on the TPP-26 (Moscow).

As Russias most efficient gas combined cycle power plant, Unit 8 of Mosenergos TPP-26 plant in Moscow is a high-profile showcase for the whole country. As TPP-26 unit 8 is Russias first turnkey energy project to be handed to a non-Russian company, it is also a high-profile showcase for Alstom.

Having successfully commissioned Unit 8 and handed over to the Customer in June 2011, it is now up to Thermal Services to ensure TPP-26 remains a success story for Alstom Power!

Were pleased to announce that the first test was passed successfully in January when our Local Service Centre in Russia carried out the first inspection of the GT26 turbine. The inspection comes as part of Long Term Service Agreement another first for a foreign supplier in Russia signed between Mosenergo and Alstom Power in 2007. At Mosenergos request, the inspection was held during Russias traditional Christmas and New Year holiday period. The inspection was conducted flawlessly and deserves praise both for its management and the technical delivery from the teams.

The new Unit 8 has boosted the total TPP-26 installed capacity from 1,400 to 1,820 MW. With Alstoms advanced technologies for power generation, the unit achieves efficiency levels of 59 %, the highest of any combined-cycle power plant in Russia. The operational efficiency of the new combined-cycle unit reduces the consumption of natural gas by 30 % in comparison with other Russian power plants.
