Alstom experts highlight broad portfolio of power generation solutions in Malaysia

At Clean Power Day Malaysia, an esteemed panel of Alstom and industry experts will highlight Malaysia's energy needs and demonstrate how the company can help fulfil them. They will present Alstom's three-pillar Clean Power Today strategy, highlighting the broad range of technical solutions that are available for stabilising power emissions todayensuring higher efficiency and reduced emissions in the future.

Alstom's experts will present all power generation solutions necessary to help Malaysia meet its energy needs. From renewables, through Alstom's next generation GT24/GT26 gas turbine technology and KA24/KA26 gas-fired power plants, to service, smart power and carbon capture solutions.

Alstom is the largest original equipment manufacturer in Malaysia having supplied key equipment for nearly 7.5 gigawatts (GW) of the countrys installed power generation capacity. Previous contracts in Malaysia include turnkey contracts in 1994 for the construction of the 1,300 MW Lumut and the 670 MW Kuala Langat combined-cycle power plants, contracts to provide GT13 gas turbines for the Paka, Pasir Gudang and Connaught Bridge power plants signed in 1989, turnkey contracts in 2000 to build the GB3 and Perlis combined-cycle power plants, as well as the 2003 and 2004 contracts to install environmental control systems for the Tg Bin and Jimah coal-fired power plants. Most recently, Alstom won a contract from TNB for the supply of the electro-mechanical package (consisting of two 125 MW hydro power turbines, a generator and ancillaries) for the 250 MW Hulu Terengganu hydro power plant in 2010.
