Alstom maintains the electrostatic precipitators at MB Kemi pulp mill

Alstom Power
will maintain the soda recovery boiler’s electrostatic precipitators at Oy
Metsä-Botnia Ab’s Kemi  pulp mill. During
the major overhaul of the three electrostatic precipitators the screeening
plates, the emitting electrodes plus the disc valves of the flue gas ducts will
be renewed. The maintenance work will be carried out at the end of September
2011. 

Oy Metsä-Botnia
Ab manufactures chemical pulps at four mills in Finland. The Kemi pulp mill produces
annually 560,000 tons of softwood and hardwood pulp for for tissue and
speciality paper manufacturing. Alstom Power has had for several years a long
term service agreement with Oy Botnia Mill Service Ab,
who is responsible for Botnia Kemi’s maintenance, on the maintenance of the plant’s
air pollution control equipment.

Alstom
Power has several decades of experience in the maintenance of gas-cleaning
equipment, flue gas dampers, dust-conveying systems and fans in various
processes. We have executed several Electrostatic precipitator (ESP)
modernisation projects in different industrial processes from ESP internal
rebuilds to challenging ESP extensions.
