Alstom recently exhibited at Staffords first Jobs Fair on 15th July, where over 1,000 job seekers perused the hundreds of vacancies currently on offer.

Alongside other local employers, including JCB and engineering firm Goodrich, Alstom advertised 111 vacancies UK wide, around 40 of which are Stafford based.  In addition, visitors to the Alstom stand were encouraged to view the dedicated Jobs Online website where they could apply directly for roles or register their details on the site for alerts.

Nick De Bois MP for Enfield officially opened the event, thanking all local employers for their contribution in making the day a success, following in the footsteps of the recent Enfield Fair.  Jeremy Lefroy MP for Stafford attended the fair as well as Chris Grayling MP, Minister for Employment, whose presence helped to boost the numbers of visitors.

Throughout the day, organisations such as the Stafford Enterprise, were on hand to lend advice.  A series of job seeking seminars also took place alongside a Work Club and the County Council's Jobs Bus.  The fair was organised by Stafford Works, a charity which aims at tackling unemployment in the area.
