The lobby of the Besançon/Franche-Comté TGV railway station in France will soon sport a huge clock, known as “Matrice”, weighing six tonnes and measuring several metres high.
More than ten contractors are working on the clock. Alstom is providing the rotor from a TGV engine, manufactured in Ornans, which will animate the clock’s mechanism. The inauguration is due to take place by the end of the year.
