Alstom and Chemion agree upon long-term cooperation
Chemion Logistik GmbH is going to rent six locomotives of type BR 203 from 1 June 2011, including full service over a period of at least five years, with Alstom also providing the full service for the existing three Chemion locos of other manufacturers. The order value of this contract amounts to several million euros. As a logistics service provider working for Bayer, LANXESS, etc., Chemion is going to use the new locomotives for the shunting and largely light-duty mainline service in the Rhine-Ruhr area if required.
Using these new locomotives and the full service offered by Alstom, we are optimally prepared for the requirements of the future, Uwe Menzen says, Managing Director of Chemion Logistik GmbH.
Alstom will use the available Chemion infrastructure in Dormagen for its services. Work of a larger scope will be carried at Alstoms factory in Stendal. Thus, Alstom can guarantee its customer quick reaction times and therefore optimum availability of the locomotives. This service agreement includes all activities from preventive maintenance to repair and main inspections.
We are pleased to complete Chemions fleet with our modernized locomotives and we rely on good cooperation, Klaus Hiller says, Managing Director of ALSTOM Lokomotiven Service GmbH.
