Congratulations to the Alstom Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team at West Burton Power Station who have just reached a notable EHS milestone - Two Years worked with no Lost Time Accidents (LTA's) on the Coal and FGD Plants.
As Stephen Densley, Alstom Project Manager at West Burton, comments; "Our workforce are dedicated to following the right procedures, highlighting safety concerns and helping us to continuously improve with open reporting of near misses.
Our efforts through Alstom's Safety Improvement Programme (SIP) to improve everyone's understanding of risk assessment fundamentals, and through EDF's Safety Training Days to communicate a culture of questioning unsafe conditions and behaviours have, we believe, made the difference.
We operate and maintain the Plant over a wide area, many types of procedures and operational challenges. With 25,000 manhours per month being worked - Safely."
