Alstom has moved into new offices in Sweden, featuring a lower environmental impact and high energy efficiency.
The building, known as Kungsbron, has a façade that is built from materials that respect the environment and make the most of the sunshine, while limiting heat in the offices.
The premises are partly heated by the movements of travellers in the central station, located just below, and are cooled by the water of a nearby lake. And automatic weather forecasts, updated every hour, are used to adjust the temperature of the offices to the necessary level to avoid overloading the urban heating system.
The building has been granted all four environment protection certificates awarded in Scandinavia.
