Alstom Grid wins AUD 36 million turnkey contract

Alstom Grid in Australia signed a contract with ElectraNet Transmission Services Pty Ltd. for a AUD 36 million order to build the new City West Substation for the Adelaide City Reinforcement Project (ACR).

The scope of the order covers the procurement, design and construction of the City West Substation in the Keswick suburb of Adelaide. This turnkey systems project includes the supply of Alstom’s 275kV Gas-insulated Substations from France, 275/66kV Transformers supplied by our Brisbane factory in Queensland as well as protection schemes.

ElectraNet manages the transmission network in the State of South Australia. This new Substation will increase the security of electrical supply to the centre of Adelaide city. The Substation is architect-designed to satisfy local council requirements for the development.

The contract was signed on 04 March 2010 and the project will be delivered in Q4 2011.
