In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, between 1 April and 30 June 2007, Alstom received orders for 7.6 billion, an increase of 62% versus the first quarter of fiscal year 2006/07. Over the same period, sales reached 4.0 billion, up 27%.

Alstom has won an order for a turnkey 660MW open-cycle gas-fired power plant, Colongra, located at Munmorah, 120 km north of Sydney, Australia. The contract, worth approximately 250 million, was awarded by state-owned utility, Delta Electricity.

ALSTOM has contracted with International Power (Technologies) Pty Limited for the design, engineering and implementation of a demonstration plant at their Hazelwood Power Station. The project will showcase technologies which are able to dramatically reduce the plant's CO2 intensity.
