Alstom will implement new 3rd rail system in São Paulo Metros Line 3

The consortium Tração 3, composed by Alstom and Tejofran, has won the public bid to develop and supply the new system of 3rd rail for Line 3 of São Paulo Metro.

The new 3rd rail system is responsible for providing power distribution for the train traction, allowing the operation. This project will make it possible for the operator to the increase the quantity of trains circulating in the line. Alstom will be responsible for the project and systems integration.

Line 3 has 22km of extension and 18 stations, that connects the west to east regions of São Paulo, and transported more than 320 million passengers in 2009.
