The Alstom stand will showcase its offering of products and
services, as well as its partnership with TMH. This will
provide visitors and the press with an opportunity to get to
know Alstom a little better, with various areas of the stand
being dedicated to freight stock (Prima II locomotive), urban
and suburban trains (Citadis tramways, Citadis Dualis
tram-trains, the APS system* , supercapacitors** ), regional
trains (Coradia Polyvalent train), high and very high speed.
The high and very high speed area is where NTVs new
AGV.Italo will be on show, as well as the New Pendolino and the
new Very High Speed platform. This new single level
high-capacity platform is entirely interoperable and draws on
the very best of Alstom technology and its 30 years of
experience with Very High Speed articulated platforms (TGV, TGV
Duplex and AGV) and non-articulated High-Speed platforms
(Pendolino).
Its signalling solutions (Atlas and Urbalis*** ), services,
infrastructures and key turnkey projects (TrainTracer****,
Appitrack, Hesop ) will be located in another specific corner.
Philippe Mellier, President of Alstom Transport, will address
the press in particular in the afternoon of Tuesday 21
September on the theme of Alstom Transports
products and services: results, outlook and development.
Two specially themed workshops run by François
Lacôte, Technical Advisor to the President, will follow
this conference. They will serve as an opportunity for Alstom
to showcase its expertise and its competitive two-level train
and "tropicalisation/winterisation solution for the
media .
InnoTrans will also be an opportunity for Alstom to exhibit its
New Pendolino trainsets (ETR 610 for the SBB), its regional
Coradia Continental trainsets (for E-Netz Regensburg) and its
Prima II locomotive (prototype) which people will be able to
visit with the company of experts.

* Alimentation Par le Sol or Ground-Level Power Supply. APS
is a tramway power system whereby power is supplied via a third
rail.
** Supercapacitors are an onboard energy storage solution that
enable tramways to run without catenary power, so allowing them
to be more aesthetically integrated into the urban environment.
This innovative system means greater autonomy and lower energy
consumption.
*** Atlas is Alstom Transports ERTMS (European Rail
Traffic Management System) solution: a system to manage the
movement and security of trains, locking, signalling. Urbalis
is a global control system for urban networks that
automatically controls the movements of trains, rendering
traffic more fluid, optimising speed, guaranteeing passenger
safety and improving the commercial efficiency of the line.
**** Adding a TrainTracer module to a trains control
system makes it possible to generate an almost constant flow of
data about the status of its major components which is
transmitted by radio. Technicians receive information in real
time or on request, which means they can analyse and anticipate
any problems or diagnose faults. Appitrack is an innovative
machine which lays track automatically and four times faster
than traditional procedures. Hesop is a tramway substation
which makes it possible to absorb and then reinject energy
generated when braking back into the electricity distribution
network, leaving energy to be exchanged naturally between
vehicles as a priority. The design of the HESOP system means
that the power system can be optimised.
Tropicalisation/winterisation refers to the
preparation of trains for use in extremely cold or extremely
hot conditions.
