IMMA - Indústria Metalúrgica e Mecânica da Amazônia, the first capital stock industry made to order in the North region of Brazil and the result of a joint venture between Alstom and Bardella, opens today, July 1st, the CCG Centro de Capacitação Guaporé (Guaporé Qualification Center) in a partnership with SENAI.

With the opening of the center, IMMA continues its strategic plan to pass on industrial technology and professional formation in the metal/mechanic area. Located within the factory, the space is destined to knowledge management practices, with the purpose of qualifying, developing, and improving employees, promoting work education.

Our purpose is to prepare and develop persons to act on IMMAs behalf and in the future graduate professionals qualified and certified to work in the metallurgical and base industries in any region in the country, says Gustavo Almeida, IMMAs Human Resources Manager.

The structure consists of a workshop where oxygen lancing, boiler making, and welding practical training and operations will be performed. Two classrooms were built in the external area for theoretical, technical, and behavioral qualification. The estimation is to qualify 300 persons until the end of 2010.

SENAI, IMMAs partner since the beginning of Projeto Guaporé, will be responsible for the technical and pedagogical quality of the qualification. With the aid of SENAI we have already qualified more than one thousand rondonienses (people who live in Rondônia) and we are consolidating our presence in this State even more, adds Almeida.
