Alstom will inaugurate a new manufacturing and engineering facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on June 24th.
The Chattanooga facility represents a major investment for Alstom in the U.S. This new facility will allow Alstom to be closer to its North American clients and reply to the growing needs of the American energy market. We are aiming at building the most efficient, cleanest and integrated manufacturing facility.
The facility will have the capacity to manufacture, assemble and test large equipment (new and retrofit) for nuclear and fossil applications, using the most up-to-date high precision machine-tools and other equipment available today.
The Chattanooga facility is sized to manufacture the largest turbines in the world and test them in its own rotor balancing facility, also the world's largest.
