These nominations aim to develop the diversity
of Alstoms Board members. Because of their Indian and
American nationalities, their rich and diverse professional
careers and their contributions to major companies such as ICICI
Bank or BP, Lalita Gupte and Katrina Landis will bring to the
Board their international experience and knowledge of the markets
where Alstom operates.

The annual shareholders meeting also approved the renewal
of the appointments of Georges Chodron de Courcel, Olivier
Bouygues and Bouygues SA, as directors.

Following these nominations, Alstoms Board of directors,
chaired by Patrick Kron, Chairman and CEO of Alstom, will include
14 members : Patrick Kron, Jean-Paul Béchat*, Candace K.
Beinecke, Olivier Bouygues, Georges Chodron de Courcel, Pascal
Colombani*, Jean-Martin Folz*, Lalita Gupte*, Gérard
Hauser*, Katrina Landis*, James William Leng*, Klaus Mangold*,
Alan Thomson*, Bouygues SA (represented by Philippe Marien).

*Independent director

Lalita D. Gupte, 61, an Indian citizen, holds a Bachelors
degree in economics and a Masters degree in management
studies from Mumbai University. Beginning her career with ICICI
Ltd (Indias second largest bank) in 1971, she held various
leadership positions in areas of corporate and retail banking,
strategy and international banking. She has been instrumental in
transforming ICICI Bank into a diversified financial services
group. She has been specifically in charge of developing the
retail domestic bank, the listing of ICICI on the New York Stock
Exchange in 1998-1999, before leading international operations
starting in 2001. Between 2002 and 2006 she was Chief Operating
Officer and member of the board of ICICI Bank. Mrs Gupte is
presently non executive chairman of ICICI Venture Funds
Management Co and a board member of Nokia and Bharat Forge Ltd.

Katrina Landis, 50, a US citizen, graduated from University of
Mary Washington and the University of Alaska. She started her
career as a consultant then created a consulting firm specialised
in energy. After working for Amoco, she joined the BP group in
1992 where she has served in a variety of senior roles, including
exploration and production, trading as well as mergers and
acquisitions. An expert in clean energy, she is Group Vice
President of BP Alternative Energy, a subsidiary of BP launched
in 2005 to invest in renewables and alternative fuels.
