Alstom has signed two long-term service agreements with GDF SUEZ Group Companies, worth about 130 million for power plants in Thailand and Chile.

In Thailand, one service agreement has been signed with the Glow Group of companies, owned 69.11% by GDF SUEZ. The contract covers the two GT26 gas turbines at the 713 MW Glow combined cycle facility located at Hemaraj Chonburi Industrial Estate in Bowin, Chonburi. The plant was constructed by Alstom and has been in commercial operation since 2003.

In Chile, another service agreement has been signed with E-CL S.A., the fourth largest electric generation company in Chile owned primarily by GDF SUEZ (52.4%) and Codelco (40%). The agreement covers the 400 MW Tocopilla power plant also based on Alstoms GT26 technology. The plant was constructed by Alstom and has been under commercial operation since 2000.

Under these long-term service agreements, Alstom will be providing new parts as well as reconditioning services for the gas turbines. The contract also includes an option for Alstoms 24/7 Plant Support Centre, a dedicated service centre for providing remote operation and maintenance support.

GDF SUEZ is the leading IPP (Independent Power Producer) in the world and a major gas player in Europe. Alstom has been their long-standing partner for gas-fired power plants in Europe and other parts of the world. With these new contracts, the entire fleet of Alstom engines, owned by GDF SUEZ, are now covered by long-term service agreements. These include the Cycofos, Combigolfe and Dunkerque plants in France, Flevo in Netherlands and the Al Hidd power plant in Bahrain, Middle East.
