The first test phase of the prototype is now concluded and
the following phase dedicated to the standardization of
signalling systems begins.
Tests began on 9 February 2010 are aimed at obtaining the
standardization for the Italian network of the train. The trial
trips, during which the peak speed of 330 kph will be attained,
will continue on the high speed network and on conventional
lines until the month of June. Starting from 2011,NTV will be
the first railway company in the world to operate this high
speed train of the fourth generation equipped with an extremely
innovative technology: articulated trainsets, distributed power
and permanent magnet motors.
In 2008, the Italian transport company has placed a firm order
for 25 trainsets (with an option for a further 10), with an
associated maintenance contract for a period of 30 years.
