This tram-train is the first of 15 trainsets ordered by the
SNCF for the Pays de la Loire region. This means of
transportation lets passengers travel within the city and on
the regional train network without having to change their mode
of transport.

In May 2007, the SNCF placed a framework order with Alstom
for the manufacturing of 200 Citadis Dualis trainsets,
including a firm order for 7 trains in Pays de la Loire region
and 24 for the Rhône-Alpes area. Another 8 trains were
ordered in March 2009 for Pays de Loire region.

The Citadis Dualis trainset, which left Alstom’s
Valenciennes site in early January, is currently undergoing a
series of running tests in the Pays de la Loire region, after
which it will head to Wildenrath (Germany) testing track. The
vehicle will be put into commercial service on the
Nantes-Clisson line by end of August 2010.
