Stafford employees are super Heroes

In January 2010, 'Help for Heroes' was voted as Alstom Stafford's nominated charity of the year.   The charity has helped many local people returning from service in the armed forces and affects the family and friends of a number of people working at Alstom Stafford. 

To kick-start the year, a 'Tash for Cash' appeal was set up to encourage as many men as possible to grow an unwanted moustache or facial hair, for charity, during January 14 participants managed to raise over £700 between them.  

The most recent fundraiser took place on St Patricks Day, when four willing and bearded participants agreed to have all of their facial hair shaven off.  Barbers Inc. on Salter Street in Stafford kindly volunteered their time for the St.Patricks Day event.  

So far this year, the Stafford fundraising committee have drummed up in excess of £1,200 in support of Help for Heroes.  This is a fantastic start; the aim for the whole year is to raise £3,000.
