The department is divided into geographic regions, which
were set up to help bring the company closer to its customers
around the world.

Thierry Best
Thierry Best is a graduate of the Institut dEtudes
Politiques de Paris and a former student of the Ecole Nationale
dAdministration. He began his career in the Department
of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Finance and
later became Commercial Counsellor to the French embassies in
Madrid (1989), Buenos Aires (1991) and London (1995). He joined
Alstom Transport in 1998 as Sales Manager for Israel, Egypt and
South Africa. In 1999, he became Senior Vice President in
China, in 2003, Vice President of the metro product line and in
2004, Managing Director for France. In 2007, Best was appointed
Alstom Transport Project Director. In 2008, he became Rolling
Stock & Components Senior Vice President and then in 2009
was appointed Alstom International Network Senior Vice
President Middle East and Africa.

Henri Bussery
Graduating from the Ecole Polytechnique in 1980, Henry Bussery
began his career at Renault then moved to Arthur Andersen in
1985 and Faiveley Transport in 1992. He joined Alstom Transport
in 1997, taking the position of Managing Director for
International Operations in the Signalling Group. In 2001, he
became Vice President of the Systems Group. From 2003 to 2007,
he was successively Director of Operations Swiss &
Mediterranean, then Business development & Sales Vice
President Swiss & Mediterranean. From 2007, he held
the position of Managing director of the Middle East and North
Africa region for all of Alstom Transports activities
(rolling stock, infrastructures and turnkey products, service
etc.).

Gian-Luca Erbacci
With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Gian-Luca Erbacci
joined Alstom Transport in 1999 (Fiat Ferroviaria), where he
held the position of Industrial Director. In Alstom he later
covered different positions, among them the responsibility of
the Bogies in Switzerland and the Light Rail Vehicle business
units at La Rochelle, and later on the Rolling Stock
Engineering unit in Paris. In 2005, he joined Trenitalia, where
he took the responsibility of Technical Operations. After an
experience as CEO of Fomas, a Company Leader in the market of
heavy forged components for the Power Generation, Nuclear and
Oil and Gas Sectors, Gian-Luca Erbacci comes back in 2009 to
Alstom as Vice President Train Life Services.

Andreas Knitter
Electrical Engineer (RWTH, Aachen, Germany) with a Masters in
Business Administration in Brussels, Andreas Knitter begins his
carrier in 1991 in design engineering and purchasing with
Solvay, Belgium. In 1994 he entered the world of railways by
joining ADtranz as Sales Manager Export. In 1997 he joins
Alstom Transport in Paris as Product Manager for regional
trains. During his working experience in Alstom Transport,
Andreas covered different positions such as Vice President
Double Deck then Regional trains Business Unit, Managing
Director Alstom Sweden and Managing Director of Alstom
Transport Germany/Austria. In February 2008 he joined Foseco
plc, a leading company in the molten metal industry, as Vice
President Europe, Middle East, Africa and Germany Country
President.

Dominique Pouliquen
After graduating from the Institut dEtudes Politiques de
Paris (economics and finance section) in 1982, Dominique
Pouliquen began his career as Sales Director of the Methods and
Software Engineering division for the IBSI Group (which became
the Telis Group in 1995), then Sales and Marketing Director
France for Sapiens International. He joined Alstom Transport in
1996 in the Service Sales Department and became Director of
Sales for the Asia zone in 1999. He moved to the Service Sales
Department in 2000, then to the Product Marketing Department in
2001. In 2002, he became Marketing Director and went on to
become Product and Strategy Managing Director in 2003 and
finally Maintenance Operations Managing Director in 2005. Since
January 2009, Dominique Pouliquen has been Managing Director of
the Asia-Pacific region.

Roelof Van Ark
After graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand,
Johannesburg with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, and an
MBA, Roelof Van Ark joined Siemens (South Africa) en 1976 as
Project Engineer. After holding various positions in the
company, he became Joint Managing Director in 1993. He
furthered his experience as President of Turnkey Transportation
Systems at Siemens AG in Berlin, after which he became
President of Siemens Transportation Systems Inc. in the USA in
1999. In 2003 he joined InVision Technologies, Inc. as
President of Aviation Security. In June 2005, he re-joined the
transportation sector by joining Alstom Transport as Senior
Vice President of the North America region.

Jérôme Wallut
Jérôme Wallut is a graduate of Ecole Supérieure
des Techniques Aéronautiques et de Construction Automobile
(ESTACA) and INSEAD. He began his career at Airbus Industrie
where he held various position in After-Sales division, Flight
test department, Program management and Delivery Center
Operation. He joined Alstom Transport in 2000, as Project
Management development Director, later became Asia Operation
Director for Signaling Division. Late 2003 he became Customer
Director for RATP and RFF... He then relocated in
China-Shanghai, as Vice-President of CASCO Signaling ltd (Joint
venture). For the past two years, he was Customer Director for
SNCF.

Marc Chatelard
Engineer Marc Chatelard is a graduate of the Ecole
Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne, Switzerland.
After three years at Frances Commission for Atomic
Energy, he joined Framatome as Testing and Activation Engineer,
participating in the activation of a number of nuclear reactors
in France and abroad (KNU 9 & 10 in South Korea), and ended
this period as Testing Department Director. In 1989 he earned a
management degree at the Centre de Perfectionnement aux
Affaires in Paris, and then in 1990 joined TransManche Link as
Activation Director for the Channel Tunnel. In 1997, after a
year at Spie-Batignolles as director of a works consortium,
Chatelard joined Alstom as Project Director. In 2000, he was
appointed president of Eukorail and TGV Korea Project Director.
In 2002, he held the position of Systems Vice President and in
2003 was appointed President of Alstom Korea. From 2004 to 2008
he managed Alstom Transports Asia-Pacific zone and
simultaneously held the position of President of Alstom
Singapore. From October 2008 to 1st December 2009, he was in
charge of Alstom Transports South Europe Region.
