The Group, led in Spain since 1999 by Antonio Oporto, has appointed two new general directors for its two areas of activity: rail transport and energy generation equipment and services.

Antonio Moreno, 40 years old from Malaga, replaced Patrice Houdu as Managing Director of the Transport Sector in Spain and Portugal on 1 September. Patrice Houdu, who managed the sector's growth and expansion in Spain over recent years, particularly in the field of rail infrastructure, has taken over new global responsibilities within the Group.

Antonio Moreno has been with the Alstom Group for many years since beginning his career with the companys Mexican subsidiary in 1996. During the 2003 2005 period he served as the global Senior Vice President of the maintenance business unit (Train Life Services) based in Paris. He returned to Alstom last June following an extended leave of absence to manage family business.

In the Energy Sector, and following internal re-organisation, Alfonso Faubel has been appointed General Director of the Energy Sector in Spain. Alfonso Faubel will combine this role with that of Managing Director of Alstom Wind, (Alstom - Ecotècnia, purchased by Alstom in 2007).

Alstom Spain registered sales of 1.455 billion over the last financial year and employs 4,000 people distributed among 30 workplaces across Spain, supplying energy generation and rail transport equipment and services. The company's business headquarters for Rail Transport in the Ibero-American Region and global headquarters for Wind Energy are based in Spain, in Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
