Alstom to provide signalling equipment and services for
Line 1 & 2 of the new Bangalore Metro System in India

ALSTOM and its consortium partners* have signed a contract
to supply the signalling system with the Bangalore Metro Rail
Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) for the first two lines of the new
Bangalore metro system in India. Both lines will enter into
revenue services in September 2012. The contract is valued at a
total of 91 million (INR 563.4 crores ), of which
Alstoms consolidated share is around INR 354.7 crores.
The contract also has a provision for BMRCL to exercise a firm
option of value INR 141.2 crores (Alstom s consolidated
share is INR 114.8 crores) within 15 days of the base contract
coming into effect. Signing ceremony of Bangalore L1&L2 was
held in Bangalore on 16 September 2009.



The contract includes the design, manufacture, supply,
installation, testing and commissioning of modern
Signaling/Train control and Telecommunication systems for two
corridor lines (North-South (17,9 km/ 18stations) and East-West
(18,1km/ 17 stations) of Bangalore metro system including two
depots and one Operation Control Centre (OCC). The option to be
exercised covers additional 5,7kms/6 stations and one back-up
OCC.



This new contract reinforces Alstoms leadership
in urban transit signalling in India having executed the
Signalling on Delhi Metro. We are also proud to have a
substantial participation of Alstom Transports
Signalling Engineering Centre based in Bangalore on this
prestigious project in its home town. This Centre has been
operational in Bangalore since 1998. said Jojo

ALSTOM Projects India Limited (APIL), the leader of the
consortium will provide signaling equipment and services,
including Urbalis 200 Train Control system, station signalling
equipment and integrated Operation Control Centre. The value of
APILs scope in this contract is INR 237 crores. This
contract will involve Alstom units located both in India and
Europe, mainly Bangalore, Coimbatore, St Ouen , Villeurbanne
and Bologna



*The consortium led by ALSTOM Projects India Limited (APIL)
includes Alstom Transport SA (ATSA), Thales Security Solutions
& Services and Sumitomo Corporation.
