The video recorders broadcast via WiFi to the centralized
control centre (located in Rubì) live images from inside
the trains in operation. It aims to increase passenger safety
and improve reaction time in case of any incidence within the
vehicle.
The use of a broadband internet connexion operational over the
14km of tunnel tracks is a first in the railway sector. It
allows a clear and uninterrupted transmission of the images,
using the state-of-the art Data Radio Communication System
(DRCS), produced at Alstom plant in Montreal. The associated
control centre is based on Iconis, Alstom’s integrated
control and information solution.
