Alstom was awarded overall project management of Circle Line
in December 2000. In addition to 40 Metropolis metro trainsets,
Alstom is also providing ATS systems (Automatic Train
Supervision) and ATC (Automatic Train Control), signalling,
rail track and power supply infrastructures. The company
provides as well project management, design, integration and
tests of systems. The entry into service of the other parts of
the Circle Line will take place step by step until the end of
2011. It will represent a total of 33 kilometers once
completed, i.e. the longest automated line in the world.
