Last mile before COP15: Alstom to be involved in global discussions to shape a sustainable economy.

The World Business Summit on Climate Change, held in Copenhagen (Denmark) from May 24th to 26th, will mark a decisive step for business leaders around the globe as we approach the UN Climate Conference (COP15) in December  2009.

This summit is a one-time opportunity for companies, economists, and other leading thinkers, to make decisions on the role of the global business community into the Climate Change thought process.
This process, begun in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio, will give birth in December 2009 to an international agreement that will shape Climate Change management from 2012, impacting economic growth, business practices and regulatory processes on a global scale.

As a power sector leader, Alstom is acting today from strategic decisions made several years ago, bringing its wide range of technological solutions, innovations in clean power generation, and carbon emission reduction technologies, to help meet the climate change challenge.
