The state-of-the-art facility will be located at the companys headquarters in Jupiter, Florida USA where they occupy 180,000 square feet and employ 255 people.  The expansion is expected to add up to 100 new employees over the next three years.

In a grand opening ceremony today with customers, local government officials, the press and employees, Bob Kraft, President and co-founder of PSM, stated, In todays tough economic environment, we are very pleased to open a new facility.  It will allow us to meet increased customer demand and provide additional skilled jobs as we expand from designing, manufacturing and testing new parts to repairing and upgrading used parts.  He added, The expansion, which is co-located with our technology center, gives us unique and competitive solutions that we can provide to the global market place.

The new state of the art shop was designed to incorporate green technologies and principles and is the first LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) registered gas turbine reconditioning facility in the world.  The workshop also includes the most advanced F class process technologies such as laser welding, high temperature brazing and heat treat, CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) machining, HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel) and plasma coating, digital x-ray, and a complete metallurgical laboratory.

According to Pierre Gauthier, Alstoms President of the U.S. and Canada, who attended the opening ceremony, The expansion at PSM will further strengthen Alstoms technology leadership in providing customers with efficient products and services that preserve the environment and provide a sustainable response to the growing demand for electricity.

PSM is a global supplier of improved technology components for industrial gas turbines used by utilities and industrial companies to generate electricity.  PSMs product line includes stationary and rotating airfoil parts, low-emission combustion systems, and advanced components for Frames 6B, 7E/EA, 7FA, and 9E, as well as the GT6-5000F and 501F machines.  These products incorporate the latest in materials, coatings and aero-thermal designs.  Dozens of PSMs advanced, ultra-low NOx combustion systems are operating around the world consistently delivering less than 5 ppm NOx and virtually zero CO.

Since PSMs founding in 1998, they have supplied components that improve the efficiency, durability and reduce the environmental impact of gas turbinesa type of electricity generating technology that provides approximately 17% of the electric power consumed in the U.S.  During that time, PSM has grown from just 25 to 255 employees seeking to improve every component they offer.  More than 70 U.S. patents issued and additional patent applications pending evidence this.

Alstom purchased PSM (www.psm.com) in 2007.
